Fujifilm MX-700 (1998)

The Fuji MX-700 was announced 1998-02-03. A camera in a sturdy metal body outfitted with a 1.5MP super megapixel CCD. The camera was dubbed Finepix 700 in Japan and MX-700 in the rest of the world. The initial color was silver. Two limited editions of 5,000 units each were also marketed. A black and gold version in Japan only. The camera did very well on the market and was once considered the flagship of their digital cameras. The Li-ion rechargable battery was a very handy bonus in a time where almost every digital camera consumed 4x AA batteries. The camera had a lot of playback and recording varieties. For image processing the camera used two high-speed RISC cpu's and newly developed algorithms so an image could be taken and stored within 5 seconds.
