Canon PowerShot A50 (1999)

Announced by Canon on 1999-04-17. The A50 was basically a high-end version of the A5 Zoom. The camera was outfitted with a larger CCD, high-speed AF and DCF/DPOF. The world's smallest compact design with optical zoom (in the Megapixel class, with optical zoom as of 1999-03-10). Writing image data to memory had been reduced to 2.5 seconds. The camera was again made of sturdy duralumin alloy making the camera almost indestructible. In the pictures you can seen a stripped apart A50.
