Jenoptik JD12 800ff (1999)

The Jenoptik JD12 800ff not only had one of the most unusual names in early digital imaging but was also Jenoptik's second digital camera. Well, not exactly Jenoptik's but at least licensed to them (see sticker at the bottom of the camera). I may repeat myself here for the 457. time but this camera is yet another Minton clone. The camera still came with a 26 page OEM manual and this was in some times even helpful. According to the manual it was only possible to operate the camera with an inserted Smart Media card. Also every card that had never been used with this model had to be formatted inside the camera first. Failure to follow the manual might result in misinterpreting the display messages. Jenoptik also did their best to make the camera look absolutely stunning in the shopping windows, see the picture of the original box (just kidding).
