Nikon E2 (1995)
Nikon launched the E2 in february of 1995. A professional digital high-performance camera made in cooperation with Fujix and based on a Nikon F4 model. Fujix launched the same model as the DS-505. The world's first DSLR to actually achieve full angle of view. An ISO of 1600, real-time JPEG compression, TTL flash control and a variety of manual and automatic settings.
For medical and scientific purposes a special microscopic adapter could be used to insert slides although I have never seen one. Fujifilm also announced a digital image processor called DI-500 and DI-500D to be used with this model but there is no further information available.
