Olympus C-2500L (1999)
Ah yes, the C-2500L. Announced by Olympus on 1999-08-24 but already demonstrated at tech fairs earlier in 1999. It was the first digital camera from Olympus to feature a flash hot shoe. The newly developed FL-40 flash strobe was especially designed for this model. It was also the first flash made by Olympus for digital cameras. Apart from that it was also the first Olympus camera to feature a Compact Flash slot. A special ring flash strobe and it's remarkable macro mode made it also a suitable camera for dentists and scientists.
It was a high class, high quality digital camera, popular among sport reporters, journalists and macro fetishists. The C-2500L was without doubt one of Olympus most popular and best-selling digital cameras ever. Even to this day it still takes pictures in a remarkable quality and features one of the fastest shutters ever.
