Ricoh DC-1S (1996)

This digital camera was an improved version of the Ricoh RDC-1 and called DC-1S. Because it was only marketed in Japan there is no RDC-1S. Although a lot of websites claim there is. It was announced 1996-01-13 in Japan. The specs of the DC-1S are pretty much the same as the RDC-1. Here are the differences:

1. when connected to a PC, the timeout has been set to 60 seconds
2. mobile phone and modem support
3. remote control functions have been added (random play and program play)

About no. 2, the DC-1S could be hooked up to a modem (Ricoh suggested the Aiwa PV-PF288) and to mobile phones from the Tu-Ka Group. By doing so it was possible to transmit pictures.
