Toshiba PDR-M5 (1999)

Announced only months after the PDR-M4 on 1999-09-09. Demonstrated at IFA'99. The PDR-M5 completely differed from the PDR-M3 and PDR-M4 in design. The reason was for users to have a better grip on the camera when handling it. The cameras specs were almost identical to those of the PDR-M4 apart from a pop-out flash unit and a better position of the dials and buttons. Toshiba kept the same blue backlit display and provided a simple plastic lens cover. Unfortunately they used the same cheap rubber applications too. The camera was marketed in Japan in a black body and for the rest of the world in a silver body. The japanese name was Allegretto M5.
