Sony ProMavica MVC-2000 (1989)

A lot of websites make totally false claims about the years these cameras were introduced. Some claim that the MVC-2000 is from 1986. Which is totally impossible as the camera uses the Hi-band standard which was implemented by the SVC committee in 1988. So how could a 1986 SVC be equipped with a recording standard that was not implemented until 1988! This is such a huge problem that even Wikipedia sites transport those errors to the average reader. Go figure!

Well, the Sony ProMavica MVC-2000 is a 1989 (!) camera. That's three years off of what every other website claims. Sony sometimes (or often - who knows) built prototypes and called them Proofing Versions (PF), so this camera also exists in a Proofing Version that can be seen on the label underneath where a small yellow PF label is attached.

Actually there is almost no information available about this camera that comes from reliable sources like the Sony corporate websites.
