IBM / Polaroid HQ digital camera (1993)

During the Winter CES 1993, IBM demonstrated a high-quality prototype digital camera from Polaroid. The prototype had a direct camera to computer interface (hence the collaboration with IBM). Polaroid confirmed this project. The project would consist of a merger between digital camera systems and mobile computers. The collaboration therefore involved an integrated Polaroid color digital camera system that would capture photographic quality images in digital format directly on an IBM mobile or desktop computer using industry-standard storage technology.

We certainly would have loved to take a peek at that collaboration!
