Konica UC-01 (1993)

Another first on digicammuseum.com and almost an impossible find is this digital camera prototype. Until now it was unknown to the public. Therefore there is only ample information available. This is also the only picture I could find. It describes a digital camera with LCD screen and CCD imaging sensor that would take SRAM memory cards and was intended for the consumer. The images would be stored on the card as JPEG's. The UC-01 was aimed at becoming the "digital camera version" of Konica's successful compact camera "Big Mini". It was aimed at consumers, while the MC-01 was aimed at prosumers. The camera was never marketed.
