Pentax MZ-D (MR52) digital SLR (2000)
At the Photokina 2000, Pentax showcased a brand new digital SLR model. The camera had a magnesium alloy case, a Pentax KAF2 mount and sported firewire (IEEE1394) connectivity. It would be equipped with a full frame 6 megapixel CCD and the camera was developed in collaboration with Philips semiconductors (CCD). Though highly anticipated, the camera was shelved in 2001 due to production costs.
