Leica Digilux (1998)
The Leica Digilux was announced 1998-09-16. It was not as many believe Leica's first digital camera but their second. The first digital Leica was the Leica S1 but the Digilux was the first compact digital camera intended for consumers. Leica, very famous for their analog cameras, did not built this one but OEM licensed it from Fuji. To make it look like a regular Leica camera they applied a leather grip and gave it a bronze-gold-colored tone.
An interesting fact is that in Japan the sale of the camera was limited to 700 units.
