Ricoh RDC-5000 (1999)
Shown to the world at PMA '99 and CeBIT '99. The Ricoh RDC-5000 was built in a durable aluminium body and had a hi-speed USB 2.0 port. It was one of the first 2.3MP cameras at the time and one of the first to have USB 2.0 connectivity. It had both an LCD and optical viewfinder which was not too common. Another nice feature was the protective LCD cover which would prevent the LCD from getting scratched. This camera was a good example of perfect price value.
The cameras internal 2MB buffer memory allowed for continuous shooting of up to 28 frames. The time between shots was also reduced to one second. Some other features were 2.5 digital zoom, interval shooting from 30 seconds to 3 hours and an impressive 8MB internal memory.
