Olympus C-21 (1999)

Announced by Olympus on 1999-06-28. It was one of the smallest and lightest 2MP cameras at the time. It was also one of the first cameras that could use the newly developed CR-V3 lithium batteries. Those batteries were expensive back then and not rechargeable. On the other hand it had enough power to last for several hundred pictures.

Because the model was quite popular, Olympus re-badged and re-released it on 2000-01-12 as the Olympus C-21T.commu. It was the world's first two megapixel camera with built-in transmission capabilities. The user could take the C-21T.commu and hook it up to a telephone line or a mobile phone and transmit pictures.
