Sony MVC-C1 (1988)

The MVC-C1 was the first consumer friendly still video camera Sony marketed. Shown prior at the Photokina 1988. It featured autoexposure, auto white balance, built-in flash and allowed recording of up to 9 frames per second . It first went on sale in Japan then in the rest of the world (in 1989).

For the MVC-C1 a dedicated player unit (MAP-T1) was available for connecting the camera with a TV set, remote control, RF unit and a close-up lens.
