Philips ESP-40 (1998)

Exhibited on the second japanese Comdex 1998. These camera were to mark Philips start into the digital camera market. The previously marketed ESP-2 was an OEM model supplied by Ricoh. Therefore Philips wanted to enter the digital camera market with a series of their own. The champagne-gold colored Philips ESP-40 was shown during Comdex Japan 1998. The camera was never marketed but instead their successors, the ESP-50 and ESP-60 (silver toned). You can clearly see the ESP-40 label on the camera body.
