Philips MaxCam Prototypes (2003)
In 2003 Philips issued a press release announcing two new digital cameras. Intentions were to showcase them at the CeBIT 2003 and market them later that year. Both cameras were to be dual cam cameras, a combination of digital cameras and web cameras. Both with CMOS sensors, USB connectivity and built-in flash. Only the bigger DMVC-2000 model had a TFT screen and external memory card slot. It could therefore also be used as a USB drive. Both cameras would be able to record short videoclips as well. Philips abandoned the MaxCam series and they were never marketed.
