Motorola Coyote (2000)
Introduced in 2000 Motorola offered the Coyote, an entry-level digital camera reference design. The camera was also known as the SoundVision SV1307 RDK. The Coyote low-end digital camera was fairly simplistic and cost efficient design to provide a convenient means to bring a camera system quickly on the market.
It consisted of a Motorla VGA CMOS sensor, the SoundVision Clarity 2 ASIC, 2MB Flash Memory, 2MB SDRAM and a 9V block battery. The entire bill of materials was about $35 which is very cost efficient. On top of the CMOS sensor, an 8 or 12mm C-mount optic could be mounted. The camera also had USB connectivity.
